Gaikhangam is a MLA from constituency (Vidhan Sabha) of Manipur. Gaikhangam is member of Indian National Congress, he has defeated his nearest competitor Adim Pamei from 5147 votes. Adim Pamei is member of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Gaikhangam has got 10255 votes where as Adim Pamei has got 5108 votes. Pou Mathiupuang Gonmei, member of Lok Jan Shakti Party received 4111 votes and got third position in Manipur Pradesh assembly elections 2017. Total 19474 voters have used their voting rights to cast their votes for Indian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party and Lok Jan Shakti Party and Indian National Congress is winner by 5147 votes in assembly elections 2017 from seat of Manipur.
